We’re excited to celebrate our 5th iteration of our annual mutual aid program From Chinatown, With Love for the year of the Wood Snake! Each year, we bring together Asian American artists and Chinatown small businesses to combat gentrification and economic challenges through art and community engagement.

FROM CHINATOWN, WITH LOVE PUBLIC PROGRAMS

This year, our project
From Chinatown, With Love features 25 local businesses and collaborating with community partners Abrons Arts Center, lucky risograph and Midnight Project, as well as 6 NYC-based Asian American artists. Beginning on January 11, 2025 while supplies last, patrons who spend $35 or more at participating businesses will receive a pack of 5 red envelopes with accompanying stickers that highlight the creativity and resilience of these businesses.

From Chinatown, With Love Launch Day

Saturday 1/11, 3pm (Mosco & Mott Streets):
W.O.W. The Crowd LNY Street PerformanceOur annual community Lunar New Year street performance! We’ll be closing out the launch of our annual From Chinatown, With Love procession with an afternoon of multigenerational performances that celebrate community care and a shared commitment to growth in the Year of the Wood Snake. Chinatown’s first queer and women-led lion dance troupe will be making their debut performance, along with local elders & NYC Asian American performers.
 
Thursday, 1/16, 6pm-8pm (Abrons Arts Center, 466 Grand Street):
From Chinatown, With Love Exhibition Opening

Celebrate the opening of the From Chinatown, With Love art exhibition with a lion dance performance and light refreshments.

Saturday, 1/18, 11am-1pm (Abrons Arts Center, 466 Grand Street):
Family-friendly Art Afternoon with Lucky Risograph.

Drop in to 26 Mott Street in the Wing on Wo storefront to decorate and build lanterns and signs for our February "Illuminating Our History" resistance walking tour!

Carry a lantern with us on this evening walking tour of sites of historical and present political resistance in Chinatown.
